Bloomberg Certification

YOU WILL NEED YOUR OWN HEADPHONES

Headphones plug into the back side (on the left) of the Bloomberg keyboard. If you plug in elsewhere the audio will come through the headphones, but also out into the public.
1. BLOOMBERG LOGIN: Must have your own Bloomberg login in order to participate in the Product Certification program. Once you create your account at the terminal, you will need to be able to receive a phone call from Bloomberg before your account is active. They call within 5 minutes.
2. BLOOMBERG INTERACTIVE TRAINING VIDEOS: Type BU and click on 9) Bloomberg Online Interactive Seminars. Select Introductory Videos. Select Getting Started and you will see the information you need to start the Program. Each certification has an 8 course/exam requirement.
3. ATTENDANCE: You have to watch the video and the use Instant Bloomberg (help help) to request the corresponding exam be enabled. Each video instructor will give you the corresponding authentication number needed.
4. SCORES: A grade of 70% or greater must be achieved in order to pass each course. Note: If score is lower than 70%, Bloomberg no longer resets exams. (See below)
5. You have the option of obtaining certification in one of or both fixed income and equity. You must pass 8 courses (3 introductory courses and 5 additional courses in either fixed income or equity). If you fail a level 1 course, you have the option to take any elective courses until you have passed a total of 8 courses.
6. TO OBTAIN A CERTIFICATE Upon completion of 8 courses, send a message to the help desk by typing CERT and selecting "contact us" to request your certificate. Please specify EQ , FI or both. All certificates will take approximately 4 to 6 weeks.
CURRICULUM: The CERT page can be used as a reference for a frequently asked questions and course curriculum or if you need a question answered about the Product Certification program. “Each individual is encouraged to keep a list of the courses they have attended, as Bloomberg does not keep individual records in the event that the user has not properly signed up on BU.”
